One child policy in CHINA.

  • Reasons : To reduce the population/ to prevent over population.
  • Introduced in 1970.
  • education (Birth control)
  1. FREE contraceptive.
  2. FREE sterelisation.
  3. FREE abortion fees.
  • Disincentives :

– Fines are imposed. ( if disobeyed, must pay for fines)

  • Incentives :

– 1o% salary bonus.

-Medical health facilities.

– Education fees.

– Better housing.

Three or more policy in Singapore.

  • reasons : many ageing population than the young people.
  • introduced in 1980.
  • Facilities :
  1. Social development unit.

– Child care centre.

– Conducive working.

– Extended maternity leave.

  • Incentives :
  1. Subsidies,

– Tax rebates.

– Child care centre.

– Housing/Education fees.
